SPORTSFEST 2024
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for SARI SportsFest 2024 on Saturday, 14th September at the Garda Sports Grounds in Phoenix Park, Dublin.
We were thrilled to have coaches Catalina Mackelfresh and Richard McDonald from Golf Ireland; Martin Egan and Noel Higgins from Tug of War Ireland; boxers Michael Carruth and Oisin Fagan; Johnnie K and Richard Kane form Cupla Clowns; Saul Rondon and the Capoeira team; Yash Balasubramanium from Cricket Leinster and special guests Sanctuary Runners.
Every year we try to bring as many people as possible living in Direct Provision Centres and refugee communities in Ireland to participate. This year we were able to transport and feed more than 430 guests originally from South Sudan, Congo, Afghanistan, Syria, Burma/Myanmar, Nigeria, Iran, Zimbabwe, Albania, Pakistan and other countries to participate.
SPORTSFEST 2022
Many thanks to all those who attended SARI Sportsfest 2022 on Saturday 10th September at the Garda Sports Grounds in the Phoenix Park, Dublin.
We were delighted to welcome coaches Neil Kilgallon and Maria Dunne from Golf Ireland; Con and Niamh Hayes from Tug of War Ireland; Daks Easwar from Leinster Cricket; Tara Fusco from Table Tennis Ireland; Boxers Michael Carruth, Noel Burke and Paul Quinn; Michael Darragh MacAuley showing us how to play Gaelic football; Saul Rondon and the Capoeira team; and Brazilian gymnast Angelica Kvierczynski and Karen Aguiar for the gymnastics sessions.
Additionally, as part of Soccerfest at SARI Sportsfest 2022 we were happy to host a Men’s tournament, Women’s tournament, Under-13 mixed gender tournament and a Walking football blitz.

Sport Ireland is the national co-ordinator for the European Week of Sport in Ireland which aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe.
The European Week of Sport takes place every September with hundreds of events taking place across Ireland.
